Can be used for wet sand, however,like most other scoops it will NOT sift wet sand. Not intended for rocky or solid digging areas. Designed for use with 1" PVC SCH 40 pipe for the handle, available at hardware stores,but can also be used with replacement shovel handle,also available at hardware stores. The scoop is designed with NO metal, so you can scan your scoop with your detector to see if you captured your target ! Holes are 7/16 inch and the scoop measures approximately 10" long x 6 1/4" round. Scoop WITH a 48 inch pvc handle weighs 3.16 lbs. WITH a 43 inch wooden shovel handle weighs 3.18 lbs.   Handle is NOT included.    Handle MUST BE DRILLED for mounting hardware. Hardware is included with instructions. Made in U.S.A.
